(CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo.) — The Old Homestead House Museum, originally built in 1896 was formally the “most elegant brothel in the Cripple Creek Mining District,” and is hosting its annual fundraiser in March to benefit the historic building.
The 25th Annual Pearl’s Follies fundraiser is taking place on Saturday, March 2 at the Cripple Creek Elk Lodge, and will include cocktails, plated Victorian dinner, and dancing.
“Since 1958, the house has been operated as a museum and has been a public favorite ever since,” according to a press release shared by the Old Homestead House Museum. “With the continued support of the community, this treasure will be around for many generations to come.”
Doors to the event open at 5 p.m. for a cocktail hour and dinner will be served at 6:30. Guests will also enjoy music from the band, Handsome Mollies, and tickets are $30 each. Due to the limited number of tickets available, you must buy them in advance, and there are VIP table options available.
The dress code is semi-formal or Victorian wear, and there will also be a silent auction.
The Old Homestead Museum is still looking for event sponsors and items for the auction. If you’d like to help out, click on the link above.
