Annual Widefield School District 3 Parade brings community together

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Widefield School District 3 (WSD3) celebrated its annual community parade this past weekend, continuing a tradition that has been cherished since the 1980s.

This year’s parade, which took place on Saturday, Oct. 4, embraced the theme ‘All In – Stronger Together.’ The event featured several community organizations and colorful floats. Also included at this year’s parade was a new sensory area at the start of the route, which provided a quieter space for families.

The parade began at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and traveled from the Big R parking lot to C.A. Foster Stadium behind Widefield High School.

Following the parade, the community gathered to support their local teams at the rivalry football game between the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies and Widefield Gladiators.

The Grizzlies won the game, shutting out the Gladiators with a final score of 41 to 0.
