(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced that Atrevida Beer Company has been selected as an honoree for the “Hispanic Veteran-Owned Business of the Year” award by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber said the national recognition celebrates Atrevida Beer Co.’s excellence in the brewing industry, its commitment to diversity and innovation, and its proud roots as a Hispanic and veteran-owned business.
“We are deeply honored to be recognized by the USHCC with this incredible award,” said Jess Fierro, Founder of Atrevida Beer Co. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our team and our mission to bring diversity and creativity to the brewing industry. We are proud to represent both the Hispanic and Veteran communities, and we look forward to celebrating this achievement with our peers at the USHCC National Conference.”
The company was founded by lead brewer Jessica Fierro and her husband Rich Fierro, a veteran of the U.S. military. The brewery is considered Colorado Springs’ first Latina- and Veteran-owned brewery.
Atrevida is a Spanish word meaning bold or daring, which the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber said reflects the brewery’s commitment to challenging conventions and promoting diversity in brewing.
The company will receive the award at the 45th Annual USHCC National Conference in Kansas City on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
