Balloons successfully lift off Sunday morning

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After a disappointing Saturday with both the morning balloon lift off and evening balloon glow cancelled due to weather, the Sunday morning Labor Day Lift Off was a success on Aug. 31.

Crowds were able to watch the balloons take off and soar over Colorado Springs through clear skies on Sunday morning while enjoying food, drinks, and a beer garden.

Later in the morning, the United States Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Demonstration Team parachuted down from the skies to land in the field.

Sunday evening is the final chance to catch the balloon glow at 7 p.m. after live music and demonstrations, and Monday morning, Sept. 1, the final Labor Day Liftoff is scheduled to take place
