(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Behind every flawless newscast at FOX21 News there is a person making sure the cameras roll and the graphics pop, Technical Director Sophia Parham.

Sophia is in charge of controlling the cameras and graphics to bring the newscast to life. FOX21 Photojournalist Christopher Hernandez looks at what it takes to make a newscast run like clockwork.

Over a decade ago Sophia didn’t think she would be a newsy, but she needed a job and today she still is doing it.

“The me that I would tell before coming into the industry, I would sit down and tell her, ‘Hey, you better buckle up. I know you have been trying to prove yourself your whole life, but the battle does not stop and it’s going to get even harder when you work in such an intimate environment like we are in the news.'”

Sophia thanks her parents for being encouraging and supportive on her journey. Sophia also thanks her work friends for encouraging her and not letting her sell herself short.
