Campaign looks to raise funds for Pueblo Shelter

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Safeside Recovery is launching a campaign to raise funds supporting the Pueblo Shelter with the hopes of raising hundreds of thousands per year.

The City of Pueblo said the campaign is called Pueblo1000, and is inviting people to donate $25 a month with the goal of raising $300,000 per year. The campaign hopes to bolster financial support for Pueblo’s only permanent shelter located at 728 West 4th Street.

Safeside Recovery was placed to oversee the shelter after the Pueblo City Council and the Pueblo Rescue Mission came to an agreement for the city to take over the homeless shelter in 2024.

“We’re excited to launch Pueblo1,000 with the goal of more purposely supporting our unhoused neighbors here in Pueblo and specifically fundraising for The Pueblo Shelter,” said President of Safeside Recovery, Rob Miller. “Our intention is to set… the future operator of the shelter up for success with a strong financial foundation to support their efforts as they serve those at The Pueblo Shelter.”

The tagline for the campaign is “We take care of our own.” While the hope is to get 1,000 donors to make a recurring monthly donation, one-time donations are accepted. Donations will go toward supporting shelter operations, addiction programs, and mental health support.
