Care and Share hosts press conference to address hunger

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Wednesday, July 17, Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado joined Crossfire Ministries to discuss need and hunger in the community.

President and CEO of Care and Share, Nate Springer, was at Crossfire Ministries on Wednesday, which is one of the organization’s community partners. Springer said Care and Share has been seeing a constant need within the community.

According to Springer, Care and Share has served 500 families every day that they are open, and the need is not decreasing.

“It’s very heart wrenching to see these families that are coming in, that have never needed services before,” said Renee Beebe with Care and Share. “When you see the increase, you see the lines out the door. It really breaks my heart, knowing that there’s such great need.”
