(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Carnegie Library is going back to its original home after sharing space with the Manitou Art Center for four years.
On Friday, Feb. 7, the Manitou Springs Carnegie Library will celebrate its reopening and is advising the community to plan their visit when it comes to transportation and parking options.
The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and free event parking will be available at the Hiawatha Gardens lot, located at 10 Old Mans Trail, and at the Chase Bank lot, located at 484 Manitou Avenue.

Paid parking will be available throughout Manitou Springs. Parking is free for all City-owned lots after 6 p.m.
Free ADA parking is available in all paid parking lots and spaces across Manitou Springs for vehicles displaying a valid disability placard or license plate.
A complimentary shuttle, driven by city staff, will transport guests to and from the event every 10 to 15 minutes. Mountain Metro Shuttles services include:
The #3 free shuttle operates on Manitou Avenue, El Paso Boulevard, Garden of the Gods Place, and stops at Hiawatha Gardens where riders can transfer to the #33 free shuttle.
The #33 free shuttle runs from Hiawatha Gardens to the Pawnee/Stagecoach Inn bus stop, which is a work walk from the library.
Those who’d like to bike can leave their bicycle at a bike rack located along Manitou Avenue and at the Hiawatha Gardens Lot. Limited bike racks will be available at the event.
Throughout the years, the City of Manitou Springs renovated Carnegie Library to be ADA-compliant. In the last few additions, the library received new rooftop deck flooring, finished interior walls, and wired lighting.
The grand reopening will take place on Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
