CBI identifies four out of 24 bodies at Davis Mortuary

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said the El Paso and Fremont County Coroner Offices, with help from the FBI, have positively identified four of the 24 bodies that were found inside Davis Mortuary.

On Wednesday, Aug. 20, during a Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) inspection, 24 bodies along with “containers of bones” and several containers of “probable human tissue” were discovered. The inspection was the first for Davis Mortuary following the implementation of new legislation requiring yearly inspections at mortuaries and funeral homes.
