(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs is hosting a live Telephone Townhall on Wednesday, June 5 at 6 p.m.

The phonecall’s purpose is to engage with residents about public safety and emergency response. Mayor Yemi Mobolade will be joined at the town hall by Fire Chief Randy Royal and Deputy Police Chief Jeff Jensen.

The call will last an hour and participants can ask live questions, participate in live polls, or listen in. The public will be randomly selected by the Telephone Townhall Meeting (TTHM).

“I am committed to providing a government that is transparent, proactive, and approachable,” said Mayor Mobolade. “That is why we are trying this new way to engage with community members who might not otherwise have the chance to connect with the City. I see this as an exciting opportunity to hear from you and meet you where you are at, and I look forward to taking your live questions about public safety, which is my No. 1 priority as your Mayor.”

The public can register here. Registration will close three hours before the call at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the city, this is the first known telephone town hall to be held by the city.
