(COLORADO SPRINGS) — With only a few more days before the first concert at Ford Amphitheater, city leaders are set to gather at the site on Tuesday evening, Aug 6 for a sneak peek of the completed project.
Ford Amphitheater will officially open on Friday, Aug. 9 as OneRepublic takes the stage in a sold-out show. Last week, Venu (formerly Notes Live) said they’ve been training staff, and giving the venue a good cleaning to make it sparkle.
The open-air amphitheater is a $40 million project with 8,000 seats. The official groundbreaking took place on July 12, 2023. The Colorado Springs City Council approved the construction after an appeal by neighbors of the venue with concerns about noise, traffic, and congestion.
As a surge of visitors will make their way to Colorado Springs to enjoy the concert line-up, Ford Amphitheater worked closely with the City of Colorado Springs to develop a comprehensive traffic and parking plan. On the venue’s website, concertgoers and community members can check out a map, which includes two parking lots, shuttle information, as well as additional street parking, and other parking options nearby.
As for opening weekend tickets, Venu says there are tickets available via resale in all sections including the special VIP fire pit seating. All shows are rain or shine.
