(COLORADO) — Do you live in Colorado, and has your car or truck been stolen? Then the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) could offer you help in more ways than you probably expect.

A recent release from CSP touts that 80% of stolen cars in the state are consistently recovered. This is already good news for Colorado car theft victims, and a recent partnership with the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority (CATPA) aims to alleviate victims’ financial concerns even further.

CSP and CATPA have issued a grant for the third consecutive year to assist car theft victims in covering expenses after getting their car back, like alternative transportation, cleaning and sanitation, vehicle repair, as well as theft prevention measures like steering wheel locks.

If you are a Colorado resident and if your stolen car is registered and insured, visit lockdownyourcar.org to see what resources are available to you and complete a new online victims assistance application to see if you’re eligible.
