Colorado Task Force 1 completes primary searches in Kerr County

DENVER (KDVR) — A Colorado federal search and rescue task force of fire agencies has given an update on their efforts in Texas following the deadly July 4 floods in Kerr County.

In a post to Facebook, the Colorado Task Force 1 has reported that with a team effort, primary assigned searches are 100% complete in the area along the Guadalupe River, which is in Kerr County.

The next few days, the team says it “will continue working in the harder to reach areas along the river’s tributaries and clearing up designated search targets.”

Colorado Task Force 1 was deployed on July 7 to Texas to help with water rescue and recovery. The team is supported by 23 different fire agencies across the state of Colorado.

The flash floods killed at least 135 people, and most deaths are said to have been along the river.

The team also said they have been working alongside other state agencies, including Oklahoma Task Force 1 and K9 teams from South Carolina and Ohio Task Force 1.
