Community invited to shape future of parks and trails in Colorado Springs

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs is looking for feedback on how it should shape its open spaces, trail system, community centers, and more over the next 10 to 15 years. The city is updating its Park System Master Plan, which was last completed in 2014.

The public may provide feedback through an online survey or by attending a public meeting. Details on those meetings can be found below.

Lonna Thelen, Parks Design & Development Manager and TOPS Manager for the City of Colorado Springs, as well as Cassie Melvin, Communications Specialist for Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services, joined FOX21 Morning News on Tuesday, June 24, to discuss how community members can make their voices heard.

Melvin said the city is seeking community input on recreation trends, user engagement, and funding sources.
