(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of a fatal crash on Drennan Road on Saturday, July 19, as 27-year-old Johnny Givens, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD reported that on July 19, around 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Drennan Road, near South Academy Boulevard, where they found that a motorcycle had crashed and thrown the rider. Medical personnel responded, but the rider was pronounced dead.
According to CSPD, the investigation showed that the motorcycle had been speeding and was unable to navigate a roundabout, causing the crash. The coroner’s office conducted an autopsy and identified the rider as Givens on July 21.
According to CSPD, this was the 31st traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2025. At the same time in 2024, there were 31 traffic fatalities.
