Couple says ‘I do’ at Ifly skydiving venue

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Gabe and Chelsey made history as the first couple to get married at the iFLY indoor skydiving arena in Colorado Springs on Sunday, Aug. 31.

The unique wedding took place at the iFLY facility, where Chelsey was one of the first hires by the general manager, Danielle O’Neill. The couple, who met at the tunnel, chose the venue to celebrate their love of flying and each other.

“I’ve seen a lot of cool events, bar mitzvahs, corporate events, parties,” said Bradley Hoberg, Flight Instructor at iFLY. “The list goes on. But tonight I think we’re breaking ground in first-time wedding events at iFLY.”

The ceremony marked a milestone for the iFLY location, being the first wedding ever held at the Colorado Springs facility. While it is uncertain if this is the first wedding at any iFLY in the United States, the event was certainly a memorable one for the community.

“They met here at the tunnel,” said O’Neill. “What a great way to bring them back in to get married. Share their love, share their love of flying in the tunnel, and then go off and start their lives together. It’s really awesome.”

Following the ceremony, Gabe and Chelsey took their first flight as a married couple, demonstrating their shared passion for indoor skydiving.

“I hope you guys continue to fly for the rest of your lives,” said Hoberg. “Don’t fly through your marriage. Take it one day at a time. Love each other and keep coming back in because we love having you guys here.”
