CPW responding to possible drowning at Lake Pueblo

(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is responding to a possible drowning at Lake Pueblo on Thursday evening, June 19.

According to CPW, park boat patrol teams are on scene at the lake conducting a grid search with sonar and the CPW Marine Evidence Recovery Team is en-route with additional sonar and an underwater drone.

This is the third water-related incident at Lake Pueblo in the last four weeks. 28-year-old Derrick Lee Vigil was killed on May 30 after winds caused the boat he was riding in to overturn, and 44-year-old Daniel Duane Strawn died on June 7 after jumping into the water without a life jacket.

CPW said it was responding after a report of a possible drowning, and that teams would “continue an active search as long as it takes.”

This is a developing story. FOX21 News will provide updates as information becomes available.
