CPW wants your input about deer herds

(COLORADO) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is asking for public input about the deer herds in the Southeast Region of the state.

According to CPW, the organization is currently revising its herd management plans (HMP) for the five mule deer herds in the southeast region. These plans look to identify a healthy buck-to-doe population in these herds west of I-25, and information from people living in these areas and observing deer is vital to this effort.

Interested Coloradans can make their mule deer concerns and observations known by taking this CPW survey, where they can also find a map of the herd locations.

“The final HMPs identify desired population and buck-to-doe ratio objectives that will guide mule deer management for a 10-year time frame. Public input is an important part of the planning process,” said CPW Public Information Officer Dean Miller.
