(HUERFANO COUNTY, Colo.) — One person is dead after a semi collided with a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) snow plow on I-25.
Colorado State Patrol (CSP) troopers were dispatched to northbound I-25 near mile spot 57 close to Walsenburg at 4:53 a.m. for a crash involving a semi and a CDOT snowplow. According to CSP, the initial investigation shows the semi struck the plow from the rear.
The driver of the semi died on scene, and the snow plow driver was taken to the hospital.
CSP’s Vehicular Crimes unit will be conducting the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information and has not spoken to investigators is asked to contact Colorado State Patrol Dispatch at (719) 544-2424.
