(COLORADO SPRINGS) — It’s almost time for Colorado’s largest watershed-wide cleanup. The 12th Annual Creek Week runs from Sept. 27 through Oct. 5. Volunteers are asked to clean up litter along a creek, trail, park, or open space throughout the Fountain Creek Watershed District, which runs from Palmer Lake to Pueblo.
Allie Schuch, Executive Director of the Fountain Creek Watershed District, joined FOX21 Morning News on Monday, Sept. 15, to talk about the event and why it’s important.
“It’s up to all of us to do our part and take care of it because water quality is really important and also conservation, so we tie in both of those messages with this program,” said Schuch.
There are more than 50 public locations to choose from, and volunteers can sign up on the Fountain Creek Watershed District’s website. Supplies are provided.
