CSFD crews welcome baby girl in special delivery call

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A sweet baby girl was delivered into the world by the Colorado Springs Fire Department’s (CSFD) Engine 4 and AMR crews on Wednesday, June 4.

According to CSFD, the baby was born at 2:21 p.m. on Wednesday, and both mom and baby are doing great.

CSFD occasionally gets “delivery calls,” when people think they don’t have enough time to make it to the hospital, said CSFD PIO Ashley Franco, but it’s pretty rare that the crews actually get to deliver the baby, as they usually get them to the hospital in time.

Last year, CSFD delivered 44 babies, and crews always consider it a special event.

Congratulations to the parents of the new baby girl and to the crews that did such a good job introducing her to the world.
