(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said crews were at the scene of a trench rescue on Friday, July 4.

According to CSFD, on Friday at around 4 p.m., CSFD shared a post on social media that crews were in the 5700 block of Badenoch Terrace near Stetson Hills Boulevard and Marksheffel Road. Crews reported that a man was in a 10-foot trench buried up to his waist; he was conscious and breathing.

Colorado Springs Utilities assisted CSFD with a vacuum truck to help with the rescue.
