CSP 2024 street racing crackdown results

(COLORADO) — Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and local agencies with the Street Racing Working Group (SRWG) had a busy year with almost 2,000 complaints from people in 2024, according to CSP.

CSP said in 2024 there were 1,959 citizen complaints logged with the SRWG and more came through police dispatch.

In response to these complaints, SRWG took the following actions in 2024:

Six targeted operations

506 traffic contacts

360 total citations

16 arrests

31 public nuisance abatement seizures for street racing vehicles

11 vehicles impounded at time of contact

Throughout the year law enforcement discovered and seized illegal weapons and stolen vehicles. Additional charges included illegal discharge of a firearm, underage consumption of alcohol, illegal drug use, and more.

CSP said SWRG will continue its mission in 2025 and will continue to seize cars and bikes and will hold all participants accountable for any crimes associated with the event.
