(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A driver had to be airlifted to the hospital after crashing into a semi truck on Highway 115 southwest of Colorado Springs on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) troopers responded around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday to a crash near Turkey Canyon Ranch Road, halfway between Fort Carson and Cañon City.
When troopers arrived, they found that the driver of a Honda Civic, a 52-year-old man, was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital by air ambulance. The driver of the semi, a 60-year-old man, did not report any injuries.
Early investigation indicated that the driver of the Honda tried to pass the semi on the right shoulder, lost control, and hit a concrete barrier. It then hit the semi and was pushed off the roadway, where it rolled down into the embankment.
