CSP DUI enforcement event beginning in Pueblo County

(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — Beginning Friday, Aug. 30., the Colorado State Patrol’s (CSP) Statewide DUI team and Troop 2D Pueblo will conduct saturation patrols throughout Pueblo County.

The enforcement event will go through Monday, September 2, focusing on major traffic arteries in the area and the roads that feed into them. However, if dangerous behavior is observed or reported in other areas, it will also be addressed.

Since 2020, there have been 78 fatal crashes and 231 crashes involving serious injuries in Pueblo County, with the majority of these happening on Friday and Saturday evenings. The top reasons for these crashes were lane violations, speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving. CSP intends to stop these behaviors in their tracks during this enforcement period.

State troopers will focus on detecting and apprehending drivers who may be impaired by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of these substances and CSP asks for the public’s assistance by reporting any impaired drivers by dialing *CSP, 911, or (970) 249-4392.
