(COLORADO SPRINGS) — One person is dead after a shooting on the west side on Monday, Aug. 26, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

Around 1:45 p.m., CSPD said officers responded to a report of a shooting on Monday in the 4200 block of Chestnut Street, near Garden of the Gods Road and I-25, and said the shooting resulted in a car crash.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a deceased adult with at least one gunshot wound. The CSPD homicide unit is currently responding.
