CSP: Greyhound bus driver arrested in Lamar after troopers receive ‘REDDI’ report

(LAMAR, Colo.) — Passengers on a Greyhound bus were stranded in Lamar after their bus driver was arrested earlier this week.

On Tuesday, June 10, at around 2:48 a.m., the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) was notified of a REDDI, also known as “report every drunk driver immediately,” while the vehicle was traveling through Oklahoma.

When it crossed into CSP’s jurisdiction, a trooper was able to locate the bus and stop it on Main Street in Lamar. Law enforcement arrested the driver, later identified as George Dean, from Texas, and he was charged with DUI Refusal and Violating Restrictions on a Commercial Motor Vehicle.

The bus was reportedly carrying 48 passengers. A replacement driver was sent to pick up the stranded individuals several hours later, according to a tip FOX21 News received.

FOX21 News has reached out to Greyhound and will update this article when a statement is made available.
