CSPD: Additional victims sought in sexual exploitation investigation

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is seeking additional information, including potential unreported incidents involving a suspect who was recently arrested in a sexual exploitation investigation.

On July 15, 2025, according to CSPD, police began an investigation into a report of Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust (SACPOT) and Sexual Exploitation of a Child. An investigation by detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) and investigators with the Forensic Interview Unit (FIU) “…resulted in probable cause to charge 64-year-old Stephen King Sr. for these offenses.”

On July 31, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for King, who was taken into custody without incident on Aug. 4 by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office at his home in Cotopaxi.
