USAFA chooses new men’s basketball assistant coach

(U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.) — The United States Air Force Academy’s (USAFA) head men’s basketball coach, Joe Scott, has announced Dennis Harrington has joined their staff as an assistant coach for the 2025-29 season.

While a native of Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Harrington’s most previous position was at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, where he served as the director of operations. Before this, he was the special assistant to the head coach at the University of Saint Thomas in Minnesota, focusing on analytics, scouting, recruiting, and video breakdown.

Before Saint Thomas, he spent four years as the assistant men’s basketball coach at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. The DePauw Tigers finished with a 54-37 record under his guidance.

According to USAFA’s official announcement, “…prior to DePauw, Harrington spent two years with the men’s basketball program at Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, New Jersey during the program’s inaugural and second seasons.”
