(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested an attorney with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office who is accused of sexually assaulting a minor.
On Nov. 1, CSPD’s Crimes Against Children Unit was advised of a possible sexual assault on a child involving a 14-year-old and an attorney in Colorado Springs. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as 26-year-old Thomas Cushing, an attorney with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, and probable cause was established to arrest him for alleged Sexual Assault on a Child.
Cushing turned himself in on Saturday, Nov. 23 after police were granted a warrant for arrest the day before. Cushing was booked into the El Paso County Jail.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims and/or witnesses to this investigation.
