USAFA’s Holly & Ivy Holiday Concert: What to know

(U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.) — Kick off the holiday season a little early with the U.S. Air Force Academy Band at the annual Holly & Ivy Holiday Concert.

For more than 65 years, the band has used music to honor the nation’s heroes. This year’s concert will feature and capture diverse holiday music traditions across the nation, from classic sing-alongs to exciting arrangements.

“This is very important for us because we’re representing all of our military installations in the Pikes Peak Region and giving back a little bit of holiday cheer to our communities because the communities really support the military throughout the entire year so this is our chance to say thank you and give everybody a chance to come together and celebrate the holidays,” said Commander and Conductor Col. Michael Willen.

The concert will take place at Pueblo Memorial Hall on Sunday, Dec. 8, and Monday, Dec. 9, and will appear at Pikes Peak Center on Tuesday, Dec. 10, and Wednesday, Dec. 11, all shows are at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

“The people that come to our shows really just have a great time,” Willen said. “Some of them have this on their family tradition books so they come every year, and they just let loose, relax, and enjoy our show.”

Tickets are free but they must be picked up at the box office at either venue.
