(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that a deadly crash between a vehicle and a moped occurred around midnight on Monday, August 5, near the intersection of South Circle Drive and Monterey Road.

According to CSPD, when medical personnel arrived at the scene, they found the moped driver on the road and determined that they had died of their injuries at the scene of the crash.

The Major Crash Team responded and found that the moped was traveling southbound on Circle when they were struck from behind by another southbound vehicle, which then fled the scene, according to CSPD. The vehicle may be a newer model, light-colored truck with a damaged front end, according to information gathered by CSPD.
