Fort Carson warns community of housing scam

(FORT CARSON, Colo.) — Fort Carson is warning incoming soldiers to be cautious when looking for housing, as a new scam has been circulating online.

In late July 2024, Fort Carson notified the community through a Facebook post of a scam that claimed to have available homes.

According to the post, there have been multiple reports of soldiers being scammed out of money due to fraudulent posts for available houses. This includes Soldiers sending deposit fees to secure the home, only to discover the house is occupied by the owner who didn’t list the home for rent.

Fort Carson reminds soldiers who are moving or PCSing to Fort Carson to look for a home on their housing website. Soldiers can find information there about realtors, on-post and off-post housing.

Soldiers are also advised to contact the Directorate of Public Works Housing Service Office at (719)-725-8096 and (719)-238-6458. The offices are located at 1649 Evans Street, building 1225, room 189.
