(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) got a cyber tip that led to the arrest of a suspect accused of uploading child sex abuse material to the internet.
CSPD said in September of 2024, ICAC got a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an unknown suspect was uploading child sexual abuse material to a known social media app. During the investigation, the upload location was identified, and a search warrant was obtained for a home in the 4100 block of Park Haven View, near Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Academy Boulevard.
Detectives executed the search warrant and conducted further investigation. Their investigation led to the April 2 arrest of 26-year-old Tyler Truelson on the charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Child.
Truelson is due in El Paso County Court on May 1.
