CSPD: Father who allegedly held baby at knifepoint arrested

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man who allegedly threatened people and held a knife to a baby.

On Wednesday, April 30, at around 5:26 p.m., CSPD received a call about a domestic disturbance in the 4200 block of Brightside Court, near Jet Wing Drive. The reporting person said that her baby’s father was on scene and threatening people with a knife. Additional information was received that the man was holding a knife to the baby.

Upon arrival, officers were able to safely separate the baby from the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Xavier Perez. The baby was not injured during the incident.

Perez was arrested for multiple charges including second-degree Assault, Felony Menacing, and Child Abuse.
