(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a girl was shot inside a home on Thursday night, Jan. 18.

According to CSPD, on Thursday at around 8:30 p.m., officers were called to a reported shooting in the 4000 block of Colony Hills Circle near the area of South Academy Boulevard and Milton E. Proby Parkway.

When officers arrived they found a girl with a serious gunshot wound, who was later taken to the hospital where CSPD said she is stable.

The incident is believed to be isolated and police said that the home was targeted by gunfire.

CSPD’s Assault Unit responded and assisted with the investigation, which is still ongoing but police said there is no threat to the community.
