After more than three feet of snow in the last week Arapahoe Basin eyes the opening of the famed Montezuma Bowl.
Shayna Silverman, Arapahoe Basin communications manager, joined chief meteorologist Matt Meister Friday morning for the weekly First Chair for the Weekend interview live from the slopes.
About the anticipated opening Silverman said, “we are almost there. It’s just the few finishing touches.”
“We’ve had (snow)cats in there all week, we’ve had patrol in there,” Silverman continued. “It could happen today, it could happen this weekend.”
Special Events at A-Basin
Arapahoe Basin offers uphill challenges on Tuesday mornings during the season early in the day for those looking for a little competition. The early morning Rise and Shine Rando Races are a fun and challenging way to start your day.
Evening festivities feature occasional special “Supper Club” dinners at 6th Alley Bar & Grill and a “Moonlight Dinner” series welcomes you to ski, snowshoe, or ride the lift under the stars to A-Basin’s mid-mountain lodge for a chef-prepared meal highlighting cuisine from different parts of the world.
