CSPD issues over 400 expired registration citations in week-long crackdown

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — From Tuesday, April 20 through Monday, April 26, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) conducted a Registration Surge Enforcement period cracking down on expired vehicle registrations, during which the department said it issued over 400 citations.

According to CSPD, officers handed out 409 plate regitration violations, had 43 vehicles impounded for having a registration that was expired for more than a year, and issued 66 violations for expired drivers licenses.

The base fine for a license plate violation is $75 in Colorado, according to CSPD.
