(CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo.) — On Friday, May 2, Chaffee County Search and Rescue North (CCSARN) rescued a skier who had gotten injured while skinning, or traveling, uphill.
According to CCSARN, on Friday, a little before 11 a.m., rescuers were called for an injured skier on Mount Columbia who had dislocated their shoulder after a fall while skinning uphill.
Rescue teams were deployed and had reached the injured skier by around 2 p.m. CCSARN said it took several hours to help the injured person out of the backcountry, and all were off the mountain before sunset.
