(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported on Monday, May 19, that an underage boy was arrested and charged with Murder in the Second Degree in connection with a homicide case from February 8.
According to CSPD, on February 8, around 11 a.m., officers responded to a call regarding shots fired in the 3700 block of El Morro Road, near Hancock Expressway and South Academy Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found evidence of shots fired, but no victim.
Ten minutes later, according to CSPD, a call was received about a shooting that occurred in the 2600 block of Granada Drive, a couple of blocks south of the first location. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle with two gunshot victims inside.
One was later identified as a 16-year-old male who was declared dead at the scene, and the other was a male of unknown age who was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening.
According to CSPD, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday, May 13, and charged with Murder in the Second Degree. In compliance with Colorado state law, no other information will be released about the suspect.
