CSPD: Person got out of rollover vehicle, entered home and called for a ride

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said an occupant of a vehicle involved in a rollover crash got out of the car, entered an unlocked house, and called for a ride.

According to CSPD, on Wednesday, April 16 at around 11:10 a.m., officers were called to a rollover crash at the Northgate Boulevard and Old Northgate Road intersection. When police arrived, they learned that one of the people in the car had left the scene and gone into a nearby neighborhood, where they entered an unlocked home and were able to call for a ride before escaping the area.

Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries resulting from the initial crash.

Police said they later learned the car may have been taken in a carjacking that happened in the area of Chelton Road and South Academy Boulevard.

The investigation is ongoing.
