(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of South Academy Boulevard, near Hancock Expressway, on reports of a shooting that ended in one person injured.
The call came in around 11:30 p.m., and CSPD said that when officers arrived at the scene, they found that one man had been shot in the left leg and transported by a private vehicle to the hospital.
CSPD reported that it appeared that street racers had been meeting in a parking lot when an unknown vehicle pulled up and shots were fired from the vehicle. Witnesses said that multiple cars were shooting at each other.
The victim was attempting to run away from the shooting when he was struck in the leg, according to CSPD.
