(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) addressed the community on Wednesday, June 5 about several, recent phone scams.
CSPD posted on Facebook that several phone scams have been reported recently across the community. The scams involved someone impersonating an officer, telling a community member they have a warrant for their arrest, and asking for money to ensure a community member does not get in trouble.
“CSPD wants to remind our community that we will never ask you for money regarding potential warrants,” the post stated.
If you are concerned about a message or call being a scam, call the non-emergency line at (719) 444-7000. If you think you might have been a victim of a phone scam, report it at (719) 444-7000.
