(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — COSILoveYou is seeking donations for their 5th Annual Backpack Bash event this upcoming Saturday, July 27, and Aug. 3.

The Backpack Bash is a collaborative effort involving more than 70 local churches, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and government partners to support students across the Colorado Springs area.

Every student receives a free new backpack with new school supplies. As COSILoveYou ramps up for the event, it needs new and unused backpacks.

To donate a backpack, individuals can look at the online Walmart Wish List, or drive up to an in-person donation location in the Colorado Springs area. Individuals can also donate funds online and find extra information on the BackpackBash website.

This year, the group plans to help 12,000 local students return to school with brand-new supplies. The event will take place on Saturday, July 27 at Sand Creek High School from 9 a.m. to noon and on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at Mitchell High School, Grand Mountain School, Panorama Park, and Hillside Community Center from 9 a.m. to noon.
