(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Dance studios can often fail to accommodate the unique needs of dancers with autism, but a Colorado Springs dance company founded by 13-year-old Leta Rundell is hoping to change that.
Autistic Wings Dance Company was founded by Rundell and is run by CEO Amanda Trisdale. The company aims to provide an inclusive space where dancers can truly soar.
“Our teachers aren’t going to yell at you for stimming. They’re not going yell at you if you’re not keeping eye contact. They understand that this is not being disrespectful,” said Trisdale.
