DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Broncos, without a doubt, had one of the best and most entertaining comebacks in NFL history against the New York Giants on Sunday.
A game for the ages, record after record was broken during the historic win.
Neutral fans probably watched it with a smile wide across their face for the sake of the excitement alone, but for Broncos fans, it must have been torture.
Things panned out for the Broncos, but most fans are probably hoping for a solid 14-point win this week, so their hearts can take a moment to rest.

Key things to know for Broncos vs. Cowboys
Keeping things close
No two Broncos games have been the same this season. The team is leading the AFC West with a 5-2 record, but most of the games have been won or lost in an unorthodox fashion.
One of the best things that can be taken from the Broncos’ play is that they have only lost by a total of four points, less than the equivalent of a measly touchdown. The team was one or two plays away from having a perfect 7-0 record. When looking at the wins for the team, they have been all over the place, with most of them being exceedingly close.
The biggest win for the Broncos was in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals, 28-3. Out of six more games, the largest lead was only eight points against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. In the Broncos’ last three games, all of the wins were comeback wins in the fourth quarter, and the lead from those games combined is only seven points.
What this shows, though, is that if teams give the Broncos the opportunity to linger close to their score, they will be punished for it. The game against the Giants shows that even keeping the Broncos 19 points away with five minutes left is not a big enough cushion.
It’s not the type of dominance a fanbase would hope for — but a win is a win.
Blazing offense against red-hot defense
Heading into Sunday’s matchup, the Cowboys lead the NFL with one of the best offenses around. They have posted stats, including:
2,734 total yards: 1st
390.6 total yards per game: 1st
1,879 total passing yards: 2nd
268.4 passing yards per game: 1st
222 total points: 2nd
31.7 points per game: 2nd
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been among the best this season, with stats, including:
185 completions: 1st
71.4% completion percentage: 3rd
1,881 passing yards: 2nd
268.7 yards per game: 2nd
16 touchdown passes: 2nd
8 sacks: 2nd among top-10
43 sack yards lost: 1st among top-10
81.2 quarterback rating: 1st
A noticeable stat shows Prescott’s ability to avoid sacks, which also includes the ability to minimize yard loss when he does get caught out by a defender.
A rampant pass-rushing Broncos defense will put Prescott to the test. The Broncos probably haven’t kept their opponent’s scores as low as they would have liked in a couple of games, but in the moments where it matters the most, they have kept on pulling through.
The Broncos’ defense is top three in just about every defensive metric you can find.
Like catching smoke with their bare hands
With an offense firing on all cylinders, one would assume the Cowboys are among the best teams in the NFL, but an abysmal defense has kept them at bay. They sit at 3-3 on the season due to a leaky defense, which the Broncos need to take advantage of to win.
The Cowboys’ defense sits last or close to it in most metrics, including:
2,811 total yards allowed: 32nd
401.6 yards allowed per game: 32nd
1,822 total passing yards allowed: 32nd
260.3 passing yards allowed per game: 32nd
989 total rushing yards allowed: 31st
141.3 rushing yards allowed per game: 30th
206 total points allowed: 31st
29.4 points allowed per game: 30th
The Broncos’ offense hasn’t been anything special this year, but a hot fourth quarter against the Giants hopefully put the wheels in motion to blow out a Cowboys’ defense that is among the worst in the league.
