(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Department of Defense (DoD) Warrior Games have returned to Colorado Springs for the first time since 2018.
Since 2010, the DoD Warrior Games have been a platform for active duty and retired military to compete in adaptive sports as part of their recovery journeys.
Each military branch can fill up to 40 athletes to have on their team, where 70% must be active duty.
The sports the seven military branches compete in include: archery, cycling, field, indoor rowing, power lifting, precision air sports, sitting volleyball, swimming, track, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby.
The games kick off at Colorado College on Friday, July 18, and go through July 26. To check out the schedule, visit the Warrior games website.
