Deputies arrest man day after domestic violence incident

(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) said deputies arrested a 36-year-old man for alleged felony assault related to domestic violence involving his 18-year-old wife.

PCSO said on Thursday, April 24, deputies were called to the home of Taggart Rieke in the Avondale area of Pueblo County at around 6 p.m. for a family disturbance. When deputies arrived, they contacted Rieke’s wife, who was outside the home. The victim had visible injuries, and when questioned by deputies about them, she told them Rieke had assaulted her. The victim was seen by medical personnel and taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies attempted to contact Rieke, who was inside the home, but he refused to answer the door or comply with deputies’ orders to come out of the home. Deputies returned on Friday with an arrest warrant for Rieke, who was taken into custody without incident.

Rieke was booked into the Pueblo County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
