(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Board of County Commissioners announced that Commissioner Cami Bremer has submitted her resignation.
On Friday, May 30, the Board announced it had received and formally acknowledged the resignation of Commissioner Bremer. Commissioner Bremer’s final day will be June 10.
“Serving El Paso County as a commissioner has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Bremer said. “I am incredibly grateful to the residents of District 5 and our entire community for placing their trust in me. As I begin this next chapter at Pikes Peak United Way, I look forward to continuing my service to this region in a new way—leading efforts to support youth success and family stability across the Pikes Peak area.”
Until a new board member is chosen in November 2025, Colorado statute requires the political party vacancy committee affiliated with the resigning commissioner to appoint a replacement within 10 days of the vacancy. If an appointment is unable to be made within those 10 days, Governor Jared Polis is authorized to fill the vacancy within 15 days of the vacancy being created. The appointee will serve on the board until the November general election and a new board member is elected.
The Board extended its sincere appreciation for her years of dedicated public service and lasting impact on those living in El Paso County.
Carrie Geitner, Chair of the Board for the El Paso County Commissioners, thanked Bremer for her service and the collaborative transition process. “Cami has been a faithful representative for District 5, and we are grateful for all of her contributions to our county,” Geitner said. “On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners and County staff, I also want to thank the team at Pikes Peak United Way for facilitating a smooth transition that ensured no disruption in County business while allowing Cami to step fully into her new role.”
