Family fun: Colorado Springs Health and Fitness Expo makes a comeback

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After a one year hiatus, the Colorado Springs Health and Fitness Expo is returning and this year organizers say it will be bigger and better than ever. Sandi Griffin, professional fitness coach and event chair, joined FOX21 Morning News on Tuesday, August 12 to talk about what attendees can expect.

“The entire event is intended to save lives and we’re doing that in a very very fun way,” said Griffin. “We’ve got all kinds of activities for the entire family, workshops, interactive activities, samples, giveaways, everything.”

More than 140 local businesses have signed up to participate in the event and there will be panel dicussions, keynote speakers, pickleball clinics and more. “We want people to leave with more than just some free pens and some swag, we want people to leave with inspiration, hope and education,” said Griffin.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite or at the door. Children under 10 are free. The expo takes place Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Great Wolf Lodge. All proceeds go to Pikes Peak Suicide Prevention.
